I have resisted the pitch and power technique for some time. I'm not sure why I have been so resistant. The technique is without doubt much easier to use. Pitch and power has no real reference point, at least none that is easy to conceptualise during the approach and descent.
The runway numbers are my aim point. As I reach them I roundout, reducing power. I'm still a little lacking in the flare. I might need to use full flaps to find the right speed to raise the nose at stall speed, and therefore not risk climbing. More experimentation and practise required for the completion of the exercise.
