We're starting the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan in this tutorial. The aircraft is a single engine turboprop, capable of carrying a moderate passenger and/or cargo load.

We're looking at an alternate startup procedure for the Saab 340 in this video. The documented startup includes use of the GPU. I believe that without an external AC unit it makes much more sense to simulate startup without the GPU. This procedure also requires fewer steps because of that.

We're looking at a straight in practise landing at Valencia LEVC in the Pilatus PC-12 in this video. A normal approach would generally be flown using the angle of attack indicators, but here we approach at around 95 knots, and smoothly touch down with a nose up attitude, landing on the main gear.

Next in our series of videos on approach and landing, we encounter a 5 knot crosswind when landing the King Air B200.

We're looking at landing the King Air B200 in this video. The aircraft is not particularly difficult to land, but to land on the main landing gear is more of a challenge. I talk about the use of power to manage vertical speed at the roundout and flare, and the importance of holding a 2.5 to 5 degree nose up pitch attitude through the flare to touchdown.

I think we can sometimes focus too much on the glamorous fast aircraft. And in doing so we miss out on what happens at low altitude. And there is so much to see and do down there. Inspired by a recent purchase of Terni airfield, in this video I practise traffic patterns, and approaches, in the stock Cessna 172.
